몽구스 ( The Mongoose) – Dancing Zoo Review

As I work through the releases of The Mongoose, I’ve come to realize that their mixture of rock, indie, and electro-pop has only continued to evolve and become much more precise in the execution.

Even Dancing Zoo, which is the second full-length, has arrangements that sound a lot more thought out to utilize the various genres better. There is a definite funk tone on Dancing Zoo which still has that garage band recording sound to it. The energy of the band does come out of the eleven tracks, but I wonder how much more of the energy could have come out if the recording was a little more well done.

It’s a great release highlighting the abilities of The Mongoose, but the aged recording is what makes the album a little disappointing.
