디어 클라우드 (Dear Cloud) – Self-titled Review

I listening to Dear Cloud’s first album a couple years ago with the intention of reviewing it. But that was early on when I was exploring and discovering so much different music. When Bright Lights released, I made it a point to go back and re-listen to the older albums.

This self-titled album is incredible. It is one of the best later 2000s indie albums. It fits into a different sub-genre, and uses slower tempos to setup wonderfully complicated songs together. I can’t think of another band that creates music like this or even somewhat similar musicians.

The 2007 release is a marker for the genre. While slow tempo songs existed, combining them with a semi-ballad vocal style fit it perfectly with the tone of the vocals. It’s worth finding and listening to.
