Nolza is the Japanese version of 2NE1′s latest Korean release. It has the same backing tracks, but revised lyrics in Japanese and English.

For a re-release, Nolza carries the same tone of the Korean release with “I am the Best,” “Ugly,” and “Lonely” among others, but it doesn’t have the same feeling that the original release does.

The performances work inside the songs, but there is a lack of energy that the Korean release had. It could be just oversaturation of the music that’s been heard, but I feel like 2NE1 should have had a Japan-specific release.

It’s not bad as a re-release, but there’s really nothing new to hear.
