사막돌고래 (Samack Dolphin) – Self-titled Review

There aren’t many bands that use darker tones in their music. Even those that do, are more into hardcore or different variations of genres like shoegaze.

사막돌고래 are a bit different with the ten track 2011 album. They have a considerable alternative rock sound where some of the vocals sound secondary to the instrumentals, but then songs like “비가” at 47 seconds break-up the tone.

The self-titled album thrives on slower tempos. It does create an ambiance that is unexpected. The tone is actually a bit sorrowful, but the album is very interesting. The recording is a bit varied with some songs sounding great and others having level issues, but that actually adds to the overall tone.

사막돌고래 have a pretty good album on their hands.
