R-EST – T.F.O.N. Review

R-EST’s T.F.O.N. sounds like an old release from the mid-2000s. The arrangements of the songs that use female vocals for the choruses sounds really older in style.

The entire album actually sounds like a callback to old hip-hop with slower tempos and the chosen samples. That doesn’t make the album boring, but there is a tone of rehashing without experimentation.

Since the style is recognizable, it would have been interesting to experiment a bit more on the songs.

T.F.O.N. does play it safe and that weakens the presentation of the album overall even with some strong songs.
