The Unique Star – Good Morning DEVIL Review

The first thing about The Unique Star is that they could be an example of standard current Japanese rock. Fast tempos and somewhat off-key vocals.

Good Morning DEVIL uses dual vocals with each vocalist sitting in the higher registers of melody. It’s funny that the off-key vocal style is so prominent in Japanese rock. The 4/4 signature is also recognizable and there isn’t anything extremely amazing about the music even though it’s good.

It’s bad to say that The Unique Star’s EP sounds so normal to other bands, but after listening to so much music, there isn’t much that would tell me from listening to a random song that any song from Good Morning DEVIL is The Unique Star.

The release is a good sampler for standard Japanese rock, and exploring other parts of their discography might tell a different story.
