Sentimental Scenery – There is Nowhere Else in the World Review

by Chris P on 02/16/2012

I like Sentimental Scenery, but his previous albums have always been very specific mood based listens. With There is Nowhere Else in the World, he moves past using a lot of synth and electronica and moves into organic instruments.

In a simple word, the album is beautiful. It’s expansive and dense, leaving a sense that there is a lot more in the songs that wasn’t stated. It’s different hearing live instruments accompanying the still existing electronica, but it feels more natural overall.

I wouldn’t consider There is.. to be an actual third full-length for Sentimental Scenery, but a project album. His usual style is always interesting and complex, but I think this album surpasses his previous because of how amazing and well constructed each song is.

Find this album because it will speak volumes over time.
